New Wood House in the Campos

A Wooden Home in the Countryside – Outside Banica in the “campos,” or countryside, homes are built using wood from local trees and an earthen floor, as local custom prefers. Techniques to better preserve these houses include lining the outer walls and post holes with concrete, and lightly charring the base of each wood post.

Labor to Build Campos House

Sweat of the Brow – It takes hard work to build a home in the rugged countryside.
